Soozi, by Bob Oksner and Don Weldon
Strip run: 1967
Bob Oksner was originally known for the newspaper strip Miss Cairo Jones, which ran from 1945 - 1946. Although that strip wasn't very successful, it did allow Oksner to develop his ability to render the female form quite well. After several years of doing comic books, Oksner returned to newspapers with his creation, Soozi, on which he collaborated with Don Weldon.
Example of Soozi daily written by Don Weldon and drawn by Bob Oksner, July 15, 1967. Copyright Publishers Newspaper Syndicate.
